What a soul-moving night it was! Christians from across the lower mainland (and even the US!) occupied the 'middle space' that Wendell described as that place between a worship service and a concert. Wendell, a worship leader and musician from Alabama, puts the psalms and other Scripture to music in a way that communicates the things our souls are trying to say. We worshiped together in our Sanctuary on Sunday night.
The cool thing about this concert is that Wendell Kimbrough was backed up by a band of local musicians, some from our church! The band was made up of Wendell's friend Jeremy on piano, Brian on drums, and our own Lucas Bomhof on electric guitar, Jerry VanEe on organ, Elizabeth Rombough on vocals, and Lael Rombough on bass guitar. It was so cool to see them come together on stage with Wendell! Thank you, musicians, for your part in this great evening! Many thanks to Joe & Kelvin in the sound booth, and Ingrid, Annette, and Carolynne at the ticket and merchandise tables. And of course, a huge thank you to Jerry for being inspired by Wendell's music and bringing Wendell to our church for this amazing event.
Thank you, too, for coming. If you didn't, here are some pictures to give you a glimpse of what you missed.
